Description
Finally its done.
This is my 3D Japanese Interior that dissolves to a magazine.
Also my first time modelling an interior of any sort.
Video here: [link]
Description:
We were required to design and create a 3D interior modelled on a real world environment using Maya and other supporting software.
Although I have never visited Japan or experienced a building like this before, I thought it would be a pretty sweet thing to model and texture.
Being a complete new comer to 3D I obviously wanted a photo-realistic finish, with no regard to how I would actually go about it. It was a big learning experience, and I spent a lot of time watching random 3D tutorials and sourcing appropriate textures for objects.
I learnt a lot which is always good, and I sort to teach myself a whole lot more.
I rendered the finished Animation sequence at my Uni on 6 quad cores simultaneously.
It took me 3 and a half hours to render 640 frames at 1024x576 using Mental Ray.
