It's important to learn the basics, before you can master complexity.

Whole heartedly agree!

When I was a kid you just weren't cool if you liked that "Jap crap" like astro boy (I loved astro boy); now it's all trendy and all those people who hated it have jumped on the bandwagon and love it and have to reproduce their own shitty versions...and then there's the pornographic anime, my god don't get me started on that!

Somtimes i wish that bandwagoon would go straight of a cliff. I honestly like some of the anime animations, mainly due to some of their breathtaking animation skills they use. But badly drawn "steriotypical" images/artwork should be frowned upon.

Otherwise...
What's the point??

True, Some of it is amazing. But then there's a lot of bad stuff.

Oh, anime. Yeah, the most original and creative art style ever. :sarcasm:
Sure, there are some really nice anime series out there. Most of them, however, consist of some guy who somehow gets magical powers and must "save the world" from a bad guy that only he can defeat. It's getting so generic.......

I really wish that younger/beginning artists would try to draw from real-life and develop their skills that way. Not just from copying another style.
