Deviousness |
For the most part, I'm not really into the popular types (long-running shounen, mecha or random high school girls, with a few exceptions). I prefer well-written, self-contained stories mostly.
My favourites: Mawaru Penguindrum, Ouran Highschool Host Club, Trigun, Nichijou, Gankutsuou, Cowboy Bebop, FullMetal Alchemist (the 2003 version, I think Brotherhood is kind of overrated), Welcome to the N.H.K., Baccano! and Madoka Magica (my absolute favourite).
I'm also a huge fan of Digimon, and I won't touch Elfen Lied with a barge pole.
I don't like most of the anime fandom though. I admit I read/write FanFiction about it, I have ships, and I watch it more than I should. But something that gets on my nerves is how fans say stuff like 'omgkawaiidesuyo~~~~~.' Using Japanese words in an English sentence is like pretending to know their culture, which can actually be offensive to the Japanese. Japan has an old, proud, and beautiful culture, and it's appalling to see people abusing it.
There's also the fights I see about which animes suck and which parings are better. They got old quickly and they still continue. I'll never understand why no one can agree to disagree besides the fact that they are total morons.
The anime I like: Fullmetal Alchemist, Hetalia, Naruto, Soul Eater, Dragon Ball series (Dragon Ball-GT), Death Note, FLCL, Cowboy Be Bop, One Piece, Dr. Slump, Azumanga Daioh, Yotsuba, Bleach, ect. I've also watched Pokčmon and Kirby on 4kids! along with other various animes when I was 6-10 years old, and I can't bring myself to dislike such a wonderful part from my childhood.
I've watched a little bit of Fairy Tail, and I guess it's an okay anime. I've also been thinking about Mirai Nikki.
Or it's a Pokemon imitator.
Or a Gundam wannabe.
But god the ones I hate the most are those shitty harem shows.
Full circle!
But there are a few anime that I really love too.
